Sherril Royse is a fine arts painter with a 30-year career painting in oils.  Her art has gone through many stages, specializing in reproduction commissions, portraiture and varying subject matter. She has a passion for drawing the human figure, whether it be in pencil or oils. Inspired by Byzantine art to Rothko in art history she also looks to iconic artists like Goya, Picasso, Rothko and Klimt.

Her current body of work is focused on cultural icons of our contemporary culture. Archetypes like Barbie, Calvin Klein, Judith Leiber, commercial retail and cosmetic logos have captured her imagination in her new series of work called Icons.
